It has become increasingly important for labels in the industry to work with branding. It is all about how you communicate your self and the collections. You can no longer sell a single piece of clothing - regardless of how good it is -, you sell a lifestyle. We wear clothes as a statementon how we live our life's. Usually Japanese brands are the best in branding - for example Julius and The Viridi-Anne -, but they have competition from LA designer Austin Sherbaneko and his Odyn Vovk. We are totally lost in the simplicity behind these pieces. So simple, simply great. Lost & Found are one of few brands that in some strange way makes our work easy. You can not ignore the profound craftsmanship, the clean lines, choice of colour, everything blends in to one - this is fashion in its purest form. Available at Layers in London.

BORIS BIDJAN SABERI LONG HOODED COAT

Well, Boris Bidjan Saberi is one of the best designers out there on the market today, and this long hooded coat is one of the reasons. Hand made in Spain and crafted with the distinct Boris Bidjan features, this really is outstanding work. Available at Oki-ni.

Have you ever heard about a shoebrand by the name of Alden? Well, it is about time you put it on your list of fantastic shoebrands. Alden has been in the shoeindustry since 1884 and are still going strong. This particular pair is the result of a collaboration with Black Bird - one of the best men's fashion stores around.

Well, it is back. This is one good looking jacket from Christophe Loiron and his brand Mr Freedom. A true work of art that is made in Japan. Quality never goes out of style. Available at Mr Mudd and Mr Gold.

WOMEN ARE HEROES

We will not argue that this is fashion in the usual form - maybe not in any way -, but it is life and without life we would not get very far. A reflection of how we look on our world today. This is a short film from the frensh street artist JR, renowned for his social projects - turning the world inside out with pictures. Remember, Women are heroes.

The CAYA crew have always been into sneakers. Usually we prefer shoes from Diet Butcher Slim Skin, Rick Owens or a simple pair from Dior Homme. But these Nubuck leather HI trainers from Margiela are simply great. You can find them at Oki-ni.

Aitor Throup

The first collection this man ever did was named "When football hooligans become Hindu Gods" - what does that say about his creations you might ask your self.. Well, there is a distinct blend of function, the human anatomy, innovation and fashion in his work.

It is inspiring to see yet another perspective on fashion, one that makes us here on CAYA think of the future. I remember a pair of old Grifoni pants - military style in a light brown color - that I have stocked away. Aitor Throups work is similar, but as a contrast to Grifoni he will make the new standard for trousers (or pants) in the fashion-scene.

It is time for us here on CAYA to return to the spotlight. We have been offline working on different projects, but finally we decided to make are way back here.
